Clarendon Hills man killed by train in Des Plaines

DES PLAINES — A Clarendon Hills man was fatally struck by a Metra train Tuesday morning in northwest suburban Des Plaines.
The inbound Metra express train struck John Rogowski, 56, about 7:30 a.m., according to Des Plaines police.
Rogowski, of the 5600 block of Forest Hill Drive in Clarendon Hills, was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Rogowski was hit near the station in Des Plaines and trains were stopped for more than two hours, Metra spokesman Tom Miller said.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
Des Plaines police are investigating.
