Though Chicago has basked in sunshine and spring temperatures over the past few days, winter weather — and possibly snow — could make a brief return later this week, according to the National Weather Service.
For a short time Friday morning, the Chicago area may see some snow flurries, though no accumulation is anticipated, according to Charles Mott, a meteorologist for the weather service.
The fluries will ride into the area aboard a cold front that is expected to move over the region Thursday night, causing temperatures to drop into the mid-30s. Mott said this type of drop is typical for the time of year.
“We are in transition here with it being spring, so we’re going to have our warm days and our not-so-warm days,” Mott said.
