Man with cane robs North Center bank branch

A man carrying a cane robbed a bank branch inside a North Side grocery store Sunday morning.
A man with white medical tape or gauze on his face wearing a red and white beanie, a burgundy coat and blue jeans and carrying a cane robbed the TCF Bank branch inside a Jewel-Osco grocery store in the 4200 block of North Lincoln Avenue in the North Center neighborhood at 10:10 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.
Nobody was injured and the man did not display or imply that he had a weapon, Estrada said. He fled on food with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
