An Englewood man was ordered held in lieu of $1 million bail Sunday in a South Side shooting that left one man paralyzed and another wounded.
Jermaine K. Roberts, 23, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery, discharge of a firearm in a January shooting in the 7300 block of South Racine, authorities said.
Roberts used a semi-automatic handgun to shoot an 18-year-old man in the left foot and a 20-year-old man in the back at 7:34 p.m. Jan. 18, authorities said. The man who was shot in the back was paralyzed from the waist down.
The victims identified Roberts in a photo spread, and police arrested him at 10:08 a.m. Friday when he showed up in court on an unrelated charge, according to court documents.
