California man charged with DUI after rollover crash on Mag Mile

A man who was driving a vehicle that rolled over and crashed on the Magnificent Mile on Monday night has been charged with DUI, police said.

Daniel Viault, 23, of Venice, Calif., was also cited for failure to reduce speed, driving without insurance, driving without a driver’s license and negligent driving, according to police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.

The crash happened about 7 p.m. at the intersection of North Michigan Avenue and East Walton Street, News Affairs Officer Joshua Purkiss said.

Viault suffered minor injuries and was taken to nearby Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Juan Hernandez said.
