14-year-old South Holland boy’s fatal shooting ruled accidental

A 14-year-old South Holland boy’s fatal shooting was ruled an accident Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

An autopsy Monday found that Tyshaun McClurge died of a gunshot wound to his mouth and the death was ruled an accident.

Calumet City Police had responded at 9:03 p.m. Saturday to a call that someone had been shot and found Tyshaun in the bedroom of an apartment in the south suburb.

Tyshaun was declared dead at 9:15 p.m. at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
