17-year-old killed in Calumet City shooting

A 17-year-old boy was killed Saturday night in a shooting in south suburban Calumet City.

Police responded at 9:03 p.m. to a call of a person shot in the 0-100 block of Oglesby Avenue, Calumet City Police said.

Officers found the boy shot in a bedroom of an apartment, police said.

Tyshaun McClurge, of the 17300 block of Wausau in South Holland, was pronounced dead at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey at 9:15 p.m. according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Calumet City Police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force were investigating.
