A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in southwest suburban Bolingbrook early Monday, authorities said.
About 12:30 a.m. a vehicle with four passengers went off the road and into a retention pond near the intersection of Lakeview Drive and Remington Boulevard, according to a statement from Bolingbrook police.
Police say three of the passengers were able to swim out from the submerged vehicle. But 28-year-old Bolingbrook resident Adam Johnson was later pulled from the water and declared dead at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, police said. The three other people were treated and released at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
