Police warn NW Side businesses of armed robberies

Police issued an alert Saturday to businesses in the Portage Park and Jefferson Park neighborhoods on the Northwest Side about a man robbing businesses at knifepoint.The robberies happened around 10 p.m. March 3 in the 5300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, just before 5 p.m. Thursday in the 5200 block of North Milwaukee Avenue and a few minutes later in the 4900 block of West Irving Park Road, and aound 11 p.m. Friday in the 4300 block of North Central Avenue, according to police.
