A passenger on a Pace bus was killed when the bus struck a light pole Friday in Fuller Park on Chicago’s South Side.
Ella Williams, 58, of the 1700 block of West 85th Street, was pronounced dead at 1:32 p.m. at Stroger Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The southbound bus swerved to avoid a pedestrian who ran into traffic in the 4600 block of South Halsted and hit the pole, police Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti said.
