A South Side man was charged with robbing and kidnapping his ex-girlfriend earlier this month in the Gage Park neighborhood.

Hector Hernandez, 20, of the 2100 block of West 54th Street, is accused of grabbing the woman by her jacket at 4900 S. Western on Feb. 6, grabbing her cellphone and keys, and hitting her in the back of the head, court records show.

Prosecutors said he attacked the woman while asking to see their child. They said he pulled the woman into an alley, and court records show he eventually forced her from the 4900 block of South Western to the 5400 block of South Artesian.

Hernandez, who records show is a self-admitted member of the Latin Kings street gang and goes by the nickname “Sin,” was arrested Friday at his home.
