Boy, 15, was shot in the back on the Southeast Side

A 15-year boy was shot in the back Monday afternoon on the Southeast Side, officials said.

The teen was shot in lower back around 4:55 p.m. near East 106th Street and South Avenue L, then ran into a Walgreens in the 3600 block of East 106th, according to Fire Media Affairs.

Paramedics took him to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and his condition was stabilized, officials said.

Area South detectives are investigating.
