A 78-year-old woman who disobeyed a stop sign in rural Kane County was killed when she crashed into a truck Tuesday morning.
Lorella Huff was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry northbound on Francis Road when it collided with a 2012 Hino box truck traveling west on Route 38 in Elburn about 11:45 a.m., according to the Kane County Sheriff’s office.
Huff, of Kaneville, was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. The driver of the truck, Christopher Bynes, 36, of Roselle, was uninjured.
An investigation determined Huff disobeyed a stop sign, police said. The driver of the truck did not have to stop and no citations were issued.
