Chicago won Mars giveaway, gets 50,000 Snickers, Milky Ways, other treats

Mars Snackfood is giving away chocolate candies for much of the day today on Chicago's Magnificent Mile.
The giveaway is the result of an online survey / contest involving nearly 350 American cities. Chicago came out on top in the vote to see which city is most in need of a little joy — in the form of chocolate.
The result: We get free chocolate.
Mars says it's giving away 50,000 samples of M&M's, Snickers, Milky Way, Twix, Dove and 3 Musketeers between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. today at Pioneer Plaza, 401 N. Michigan.
Chicago beat runners-up New York, Houston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Detroit, Pittsburgh and Cleveland.
