Man who allegedly sold heroin charged in deadly overdose

A man was charged with murder Friday in connection to a heroin overdose in north suburban Libertyville.
Byron Sullivan, 21, was charged with drug-induced homicide, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and resisting arrest after Timothy McCann, 20, overdosed on heroin that Sullivan allegedly sold to him, Libertyville police said.
Police responded to a call on North Third Street about 8:30 p.m. Thursday. McCann was found unresponsive and was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he was later pronounced dead.
Sullivan was taken into custody about 4 a.m. Friday at his home in the 1100 block of North East End Avenue in Round Lake Beach. His bond was set at $1 million.
An autopsy was performed by the Lake County Coroner’s office at 9 a.m. Friday. Results have not been released pending toxicology reports.
