A snow system moving into the Chicago area from the northwest may bring the most snow the area has seen all year.
The National Weather Service is predicting between 2-4 inches of snow flurry accumulation for the city and surrounding area.
As of 8:40 p.m., the system had already reached the northwest part of the state and is expected to reach Chicago by about midnight, said Casey Sullivan of the National Weather Service.
“If we get the accumulation we’re expecting, it’d be the most this year,” Sullivan said, adding that the highest accumulation recorded at O’Hare Airport in 2012 was 1.1 inches.
