Man wanting to molest girl at wedding reception gets 6 year sentence

A man who tried to molest a 7-year-old girl at an Elmhurst wedding reception but was chased off by other children was sentenced Friday to six years in prison.
Priyang Parikh, 31, traveled from his home in Virginia, then crashed the 500-person reception even though he didn’t know anyone at the event, DuPage County authorities said.
During the Sept. 5, 2010 reception, Parikh lured the girl into an empty room of the suburban banquet hall by offering her candy, then dropped his pants to expose himself, prosecutors said during his trial.
The girl screamed, prosecutors said, prompting other children nearby to rush to her aid, then chase Prikh from the banquet hall as he tried to hold up his pants.
