1 dead, 2 wounded in Cicero accident

A woman is dead and two other people were injured when the car they were became engulfed in flames following an accident in west suburban Ciciero on Wednesday morning.
Numerous residents called the Cicero Fire and Police departments beginning about 5:25 a.m. to report a Chevrolet Impala engulfed in flames near Laramie and Roosevelt, authorities said.
Fire Department personnel unsuccessfully tried to remove the unidentified woman, believed to be 20 to 25 years old, from the front passenger seat, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. She was pronounced dead at 9:30 a.m.
The driver and a backseat passenger were taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, authorities said. Their conditions were not known.
There were no witnesses to whatever caused the Impala to crash and catch fire, and there were no reports of other traffic accidents at that location. It was not immediately known if the three people were wearing seatbelts.
