Police said they found two female pit bull mixes living in their own excrement in the basement of a South Side Chicago man.
Christopher Bohannon, 22, of the 9900 block of South Carpenter, has now been charged with cruelty to animals and was held in lieu of $25,000 bail Sunday.
The animals were discovered when police executed a search warrant at Bohannon’s home, according to police reports. Officers said the floor of the basement where they found the dogs was covered in feces and urine, and one of the animals was tied to a door.
