One man was killed and another wounded in a Thursday night shooting in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.
The two were shot about 6:15 p.m. in the 2000 block of East 71st Street, said police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala, citing preliminary information.
Tyrone Soleberry, 39, was shot and killed and another man was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Soleberry, of the 7000 block of South Paxton Avenue, was pronounced dead at 10:15 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
