Drivers can now see what their commute will be like before they leave their driveway.
The Illinois Tollway is adding feeds from 15 traffic cameras to its website so drivers can get a “bird’s-eye” view of the tollways.
Drivers can now see traffic along the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (Interstate 90), Tri-State Tollway (I-94/I-294), Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355) and Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) at illinoistollway.com, according to the Illinois Tollway.
“Customers are now able to go online anytime and see for themselves what the travel conditions are like on their way to their destinations,” Illinois Tollway Executive Director Kristi Lafleur said in a statement.
Most cameras offer multiple views of the roads, and images are uploaded about every five minutes. Image quality is dependent on weather conditions.
