Teen becomes youngest victim of gun violence in Chicago so far in 2013

Authorities have released the name of the youngest person fatally shot in Chicago so far this year.
Christopher Lattin, Jr., 15, was shot multiple times in the 5500 block of South Loomis Boulevard about 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office and police.
Lattin, of the 5700 block of South Marshfield Avenue, suffered gunshot wounds to his abdomen and was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he died at 3:50 p.m., authorities said.
Investigators were questioning a suspect, but no charges had been filed as of early Tuesday.
Lattin is the seventh person to be fatally shot this year, according to records from the medical examiner’s office. A total of 11 people have been killed in gun violence in Chicago so far this year.
