A plane bound for Florida returned to O’Hare International Airport after reports of smoke in the cockpit.
A Mesa Air flight 3738 from Chicago to Jacksonville, Fla. returned shortly to the airport after takeoff, said Mary Ryan, a spokeswoman with United Airlines, whose United Express company operated the plane.
The flight landed at 6:46 a.m., said city Dept. of Aviation spokeswoman Karen Pride said.
All 44 passengers disembarked safely, Ryan said.
No one was injured, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Will Knight said.
