A Chicago man was charged with shooting his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend in the early hours of the new year, police said early Friday.
Robert Terrell, 20, faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery, according to a statement from the Chicago Police Department.
About 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Terrell went to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in the 5900 block of South Maplewood, police said. Terrell then allegedly took out a gun and shot the 32-year-old woman in the back and head, police said. The woman was in serious condition early Friday at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Terrell also allegedly shot the woman’s 28-year-old boyfriend in the head and chest, police said. He was listed in critical condition at Stroger Hospital, police said.
Police arrested Terrell hours after the shooting, authorities said.
Terrll, of the 2500 block of West 61st Street, appeared in bond court on Thursday, but bail information was not immediately available early Friday.
