Six people were injured when a speeding van hit an SUV and flipped over about 8:55 p.m. Wednesday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, authorities said.
The green Chevy Astro van was heading north on Homan near Franklin Boulevard when it hit a black TrailBlazer, authorities said. The van flipped over and lay on the sidewalk on Homan.
The three people in the van — a 30-year-old woman who was driving the van and two men, ages 35 and 24 — were taken to Stroger Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
Three men in the SUV also were hurt in the crash, but Alfaro said their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening. Two 25-year-old men were taken to Stroger, and a 24-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
The van and the SUV had extensive front-end damage.
Investigators didn’t think alcohol was a factor in the crash, Alfaro said.
