Metra fatally strikes person in north suburb

A Metra train fatally struck a person Friday night in north suburban Morton Grove, authorities said.
A train heading toward Fox Lake from Chicago hit the person about 9:11 p.m., officials said. The train, expected to arrive in Fox Lake at 10:09 p.m., saw a delay of up to an hour and a half, according to an alert posted on Metra’s website.
