Nine people —including four teenagers— were wounded in separate shootings since Friday afternoon throughout the city.
The latest shooting happened about 9:45 p.m. in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side. A 26-year-old man was standing with a group of people in the 1500 block of South Sawyer when shots were fired, police said.
The man began running and was shot in the buttocks, police said.
About 8:18 p.m. on the Southwest Side, a man believed to be in his 20s was shot in the head in the 5400 block of South Komensky, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai in serious condition, police said.
About 6:27 p.m. in the Chatham neighborhood, a 20-year-old man was shot in the arm in the 8300 block of South Maryland, police said. He was listed in serious condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
About 5:20 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in the buttocks in the 100 block of South Western, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital.
About 10 minutes earlier, two teenagers were wounded when a person wielding a gun and opened fire in the 1700 block of East 71st , police said. The boys—14 and 16—both suffered gunshot wounds to the right leg and were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, police said.
About 4:35 p.m., a 15-year-old boy was shot in the arm and leg in the 1600 block of North Lorel, authorities said. The boy was taken to Mount Sinai.
