An elderly woman fell onto the northbound CTA tracks in the Lake View neighborhood Sunday morning, officials said, delaying trains on the Brown and Red lines.
Keunthi Davis, a guard at the Diversey Brown Line station, said a male passenger reported a disabled woman had lost control of her motorized wheelchair around 10:25 a.m. and fell in front of a northbound train that was loading passengers.
Davis said he went to the platform and saw the woman sitting up on the tracks. He said she was alert but bleeding from her forehead and complaining of a headache.
She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, but information on her condition was not available.
Trains were moving again by 10:55 a.m. There were some residual delays.
