2 teens shot Saturday night on South Side

Two teenagers were in critical condition after they were shot Saturday night in Auburn Gresham on the South Side. The boy and girl, both 14, were shot in the 7700 block of South Carpenter Street at 6:33 p.m., police Officer Veejay Zala said. The boy was shot in the left leg and buttock, Zala said, and the girl in the right leg. Paramedics took them to the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, where they were in critical condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
