A suburban teen is in trouble after police said he tossed a Molotov cocktail at a car — but the bottle didn’t break and investigators lifted his prints off it.
Michael Cain, 19, of Hinckley was charged with attempted arson after turning himself into police in suburban Sandwich.
Police allege his prints were on a Molotov cocktail hurled at a car parked in a Sandwich driveway just after midnight on June 23.
The bottle didn’t break when it hit the car, and neighbors put out the burning bottle.
Sandwich police were able to lift fingerprints from the bottle. They submitted the prints to the state crime lab, which came back with a match, police said. Authorities didn’t reveal a motive.
