George Ryan’s son cited for DUI

George H. Ryan Jr., son of former Gov. George Ryan, was cited for driving under the influence after he was found sleeping in a running pickup truck in a White Castle parking lot in Downstate Bradley, authorities said.
Officers said they found Ryan around midnight Thursday at the wheel of a running gray pickup truck parked across several parking spaces at the fast food restaurant located 60 miles south of Chicago .
It took an officer several attempts to wake Ryan, who told police he was all right, Bradley police said. The officer smelled alcohol on Ryan’s breath and noticed his speech was slurred and his eyes were bloodshot, police said.
The officer made Ryan exit the vehicle and attempt several field sobriety tests, which he allegedly failed.
Ryan, of St. Anne, was taken to the Bradley Police Department, where he refused to answer questions or submit to chemical testing, police said.
He was ticketed for driving under the influence of alcohol on private property and was released on bond Thursday morning.
