$100K in stolen property seized in West Town

More than $100,000 in stolen property was seized at the home of a paroled gang member Saturday in the West Town neighborhood on the North Side, Chicago Police said Sunday.
Daniel Ramirez, 22, of the 2100 block of West Huron, who was on parole for burglary, was charged with felony theft and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon Saturday after officers found more than over $100,000 of stolen property at his home, police said.
Adam Salas, 41, also of the 2100 block of West Huron, was charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance after he was found in possession of 30 grams of heroin, 21 grams of crack cocaine, a large quantity of cash and narcotics equipment, police said.
Two vehicles containing suspected stolen items were impounded, police said.
Anyone who has been the victim of a burglary in the area is encouraged to go the Wood District police station from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday to identify stolen items, including iPads, laptop computers, bicycles and jewelry. A receipt or proof of ownership will be required to claim property.
