ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan senior quarterback Denard Robinson will not start today against Northwestern, a Wolverines spokesman said.
ESPN.com first reported the news this morning.
Robinson will miss his second consecutive start because of an elbow injury, but he will take part in pre-game warm-ups and hasn’t been ruled out for the game, the spokesman said.
Robinson will be replaced in the starting lineup by junior Devin Gardner, who led the Wolverines to a 35-13 victory over Minnesota last week. Gardner completed 12 of 18 passes for 234 yards with two touchdowns.
“Devin has come on as a weapon,” Wildcats coach Pat Fitzgerald said earlier this week. “They have playmakers across the board.”
Robinson has 15 combined touchdowns this season. He was injured in a 23-9 loss to Nebraska.
