A 60-year-old social worker at a northwest suburban high school for special needs students was accused with grabbing and squeezing a student, officials said.
John Gulino of the 1700 block of Riverwood Drive in Algonquin was arrested Tuesday and charged with battery against a 19-year old student of the Cyd Lash Academy in unincorporated Grayslake, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s office said.
The student told school officials Gulino rubbed her shoulders, grabbed and squeezed her hip, rubbed against her body, according to police. The alleged incident happened in a classroom.
The school administration immediately notified police after learning of the allegation on Oct. 18, the sheriff’s office said. Gulino was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
