Man dies after jumping onto Dan Ryan

A man died after jumping onto the Dan Ryan Expressway Tuesday night from an overpass near 95th Street, according to Illinois State Police.
Witnesses told investigators they saw the man around 8:15 p.m. jump onto the expressway, a state trooper said. A car in a southbound lane hit the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, the trooper said.
A representative from the medical examiner’s office confirmed the man died but declined to provide further information as authorities gathered details and notified the man’s family.
Southbound lanes were briefly closed but all lanes were open as of 11:50 p.m., the trooper said.
