South Side fire leaves person critically injured

A fire at a South Side Washington Heights neighborhood home Sunday morning left one person critically injured.

The Chicago Fire Department got the call of a fire at 418 W. 99th Place at 10:51 a.m., according to Fire Media Affairs spokeswoman Meg Ahlheim.

The still-and-box alarm fire at the 2-story residence was extinguished pretty quickly, Ahlheim said. One person was taken from the fire to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious to critical condition, according to Ahlheim.
