Three people have been charged in connection to a jewelry store robbery in the Edgewater neighborhood on Monday afternoon.

Felice Desilvia, 29; Palo Brown, 30; and Paris Starwalt, 23, all faces various charges after they allegedly tied up a store clerk and robbed Bryn Mawr Jewelry Company, 1125 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., about 1:50 p.m. on Monday, authorities said.

Two of the alleged robbers, a man and a woman, posed as customers and asked a clerk to see a ring and watches from two separate cases, police said. When the employee returned with the jewelry, they were both pointing guns at the victim.

They let a third robber, a man, into the store, then used duct tape to bind the store clerk to a chair in the back of the business, police said.

The female robber allegedly demanded a woman in the store hand over a cash box, and by the time police officers arrived, the robbers were taking jewelry from the cases, police said.

All three suspects fled out a back door but were arrested by police after a short chase. No one was injured, and authorities recovered the stolen property.

Desilvia, of the 2600 block of West Chicago Avenue, was charged with two counts of armed robbery and issuance of a warrant, according to a statement from police News Affairs.

Brown, of the 2200 block of North Mobile Avenue, was charged with three counts of armed robbery and issuance of a warrant, the statement said.

Starwalt, of downstate Mattoon, was charged with three counts of armed robbery, the statement said.

All three are expected to appear in bond court on Wednesday.
