Former Bear Tommie Harris was arrested Monday night after allegedly threatening police officers who approached him as he was urinating outside a bar in the Wrigleyville neighborhood on the North Side.
Harris appeared to be intoxicated, according to a police report, and when an officer approached him, Harris pointed to his arms and said something to the effect of: “You want some of these bones?”
The officer interpreted the comment as a threat and Harris, 29, of Gurnee, was arrested for misdemeanor assault, authorities said.
Harris was also charged with indecent exposure and urinating in a public way, also misdemeanors, police said.
The confrontation happened outside a bar in the 1000 block of West Eddy Street just before midnight.
In a text message, Harris declined to comment in detail Tuesday, citing his attorney’s advice, but said he looked forward to clearing the matter up.
Harris is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 27.
