South suburban man dies after two shot in Roseland

A south suburban man who was dumped off at an area hospital with gunshot wounds died from his injuries Monday evening.
Marvin McFerren, 43, of the 100 block of Moonlight Road in Matteson, was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai Hospital at 7:41 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
McFerren was taken to Mt. Sinai after he had previously been dropped off by an unknown person at Roseland Community Hospital with gunshot wounds to his chest and arm, said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
About 5 p.m. McFerren and a 31-year-old man were in the 11400 block of South Yale in the Roseland neighborhood when they were both shot by an unidentified male, police said.
The 31-year-old man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was in stable condition, police said.
No one was in custody early Tuesday.
