A 73-year-old man pleaded guilty Thursday to trying to hire someone to kill an estate executor who he believed was withholding a $100,000 inheritance from him.
Ladislav Fromelius appeared in court Thursday in DuPage County, where he pleaded guilty to one count of solicitation to commit armed violence (a Class 3 felony), according to DuPage County State’s Attorney’s office spokesman Paul Darrah.
Fromelius attempted to hire a hitman to, in his words, “eliminate” the executor of an inheritance over a dispute regarding a $100,000 inheritance he felt he was due, Darrah said.
He faces up to five years in prison. He is scheduled to appear in court for a pre-sentencing hearing in front of DuPage County Judge George Bakalis on Oct. 24.
