Four inmates hospitalized after Cook County Jail fight

Four inmates were hospitalized after a Thursday night fight at the Cook County Jail, officials said.

The fight started around 9:30 p.m. in Division 9 of the Cook County Jail, 2854 W. 31st St., said Cook County Sheriff’s office spokesman Frank Bilecki.

One inmate suffered cuts to his face and lip, another had a cut to the forearm, a third had a cut to the arm and another suffered a possible broken nose, Bileki said.

Two inmates were taken to Stroger Hospital , while the other two were were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, said city fire department officials.

No correctional officers were injured.

The Cook County Sheriff’s office is investigating.
