Person struck by Metra train in Bensenville

Passengers on Metra’s Milwaukke District West Line experienced delays Thursday afternoon after a train struck a pedestrian in northwest suburban Bensenville.
About noon, inbound Train No. 2234 struck a person near Church Street in Bensenville, according to Metra spokesman Tom Miller.
That train was delayed for at least an hour until the next train, No. 2236, was OK’d to pick up those passengers and continue the trip in to Union Station.
No further details were immediately available.
Metra did not have any additional details on the incident.
