A DuPage County teen killed in a drive-by shooting near his home in unincorporated Willowbrook apparently was deliberately targeted, police said Tuesday.
Joshua Holmes, 18, was shot about 6:35 p.m. Monday when a gunman began firing at him from a white, four-door sedan that had pulled up nearby, DuPage County sheriff’s police said.
Holmes was shot five times and died a short time later at Hinsdale Hospital.
Though police said Holmes was the intended target of the attack, they offered no possible motive for the shooting, which occurred at an intersection near the teen’s home on Honeysuckle Rose Lane.
Anyone with information about the shooting can contact the sheriff’s office at (630) 407-2400.
