Christopher Vaughn Trial: Day 18
◆ Judge Daniel Rozak told jurors lawyers could make closing arguments as soon as next Thursday.
◆ Christopher Vaughn’s sister-in-law, Rachel Vaughn, testified about a conversation she had with Vaughn’s wife, Kimberly, about two weeks before she was killed. Kimberly purportedly talked about her anxiety and pointed to migraine and blood pressure medicine as a possible cause.
◆ Vaughn’s lawyers asked for a mistrial because a prosecutor asked Illinois State Police Sgt. Gary Lawson whether Vaughn placed restrictions on one of his interviews with police. Defense attorneys said the question was inappropriate and the judge sustained their objection, but he denied their mistrial request.
◆ FRIDAY: Kimberly Vaughn’s former doctors could take the stand.
