Cops: One killed, two injured after Antioch police chase

One suspected robber died and two others were critically injured Sunday when their car rolled over in a police chase in north suburban Antioch, officials said.
Three people, suspected of several armed robberies in the northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, entered a gas station around 9:20 p.m. in the 800 block of Main Street armed with a silver semi-automatic pistol, according to police The suspected robbers allegedly pepper-sprayed the clerk while holding her at gunpoint and demanding money.
They then fled the scene in a silver Chevrolet sedan on Route 83 “at a high rate of speed,” according to an Antioch police.
Police pursued the vehicle as it reached 100 mph before it lost control at Eagle’s Nest Road, crossed into the opposite lane on Route 83 and then crashed into the ditch and flipped over, police said.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where they are listed in critical condition, officials said.
Evidence was found at the accident scene that links the suspects to a July 10 robbery in the 600 block of West Route 173, according to police. The suspects are believed to be involved in a number of other armed robberies.
