1-year-old girl dies at daycare center

A 1-year-old girl died after she was found unresponsive at a daycare center on the North West Side, authorities said Friday night.
Maite Rodriquez, of the 5200 block of West Drummond Place, was pronounced dead at Norwegian-American Hospital at 3:45 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Detectives have begun a death investigation to help determine the baby’s cause of death and whether foul play was involved, Chicago Police News Affairs said.
Jimmie Whitelow, a spokesman for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, said the agency was not investigating the baby’s death as of Friday night.
