Boy, 17, pulled from Lake Michigan in ‘very poor’ condition

A 17-year-old boy was in “very poor” condition Thursday night after being pulled out of Lake Michigan, according to Fire Media Affairs.

Fire Department personnel found the boy around 10 p.m. near 39th Street by the lakefront, city fire department officials said.

The department deployed a full water rescue unit, which included a helicopter and a dive team, officials said.

Paramedics took the boy to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in serious to critical condition.
