Police responding to a call of a vehicle in Lake Michigan early Thursday found an SUV in about 4 feet of water with no one inside at the Jackson Park Harbor.
Someone called police about 12:55 a.m. to report that a vehicle had gone into Lake Michigan at 62nd Street and Lake Shore Drive off the 63rd Street Beach, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
When officers arrived they found a green Chevrolet SUV in about 4 feet of water with no one inside or nearby, Alfaro said.
Police do not know how the SUV got there, but said it had been reported stolen.
