Transportation jobs moving ahead
Some key transportation projects getting the green light for funding include:
■ $81.5 million to widen Willow Road in Naperville
■ $25.4 million to widen Illinois Route 71 in Oswego
■ $9.2 million to invest in construction engineering to widen U.S. Route 6 in Will County
■ $49 million to add lanes on Mannheim Road from Higgins Road to the Kennedy Expressway and from the expressway to Irving Park Road in Chicago
■ $1.89 million to build a vaulted sidewalk and wheelchair accessible ramp program from Lake to Van Buren streets in the Michigan Avenue corridor in Chicago
■ $4.6 million in improvements to Foster Avenue from Albany Avenue to Kimball Avenue in Chicago
