A man was fatally shot Thursday evening on the Southwest Side, police said.
The 18-year-old man -- identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office as Ricardo Alcantara -- was shot in the chin about 5:05 p.m. in the 4800 block of South Hamlin Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety said.
Alcantara, of the 6200 block of South Richmond Street, was dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
No one is in custody.
